Hainan SN Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hainan SN”) has been awarded the ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gases Emissions Verification Statement by Hangzhou Wantai Certification Co., Ltd., making it the first company in the film packaging industry to adopt and implement ISO 14064-1:2018.

Hainan SN places a high priority on sustainable development and the promotion of a low-carbon economy. They actively implement ISO 14064-1:2018 guidelines for quantifying and reporting organizational-level greenhouse gas emissions and removals. This initiative aims to establish a carbon footprint data system, manage greenhouse gases, identify reduction opportunities, improve energy efficiency, and lay a scientific foundation for reducing carbon emissions and achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.

In December 2018, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released the latest version of ISO 14064, specifically ISO 14064-1:2018, which provides guidelines for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the organizational level. As a global standard for greenhouse gas quantification, it offers a uniform method for data management, reporting, and verification. It effectively assesses a company’s greenhouse gas emissions and prepares emission reports. SN has long advocated for a green, low-carbon sustainable development model and actively fulfills its corporate social responsibility by organizing training for key staff on carbon emissions management. Successfully obtaining the ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gases Emissions Verification Statement sets a positive example for green and low-carbon development in the industry.

Hainan SN has established an “ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas Management Team,” led by the General Manager, to support the establishment of the greenhouse gas information management system, the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gases, and the verification process. Resources have been fully allocated, and staff have adhered to the requirements of the documentation to ensure data and information accuracy. 

During the carbon inventory process, the Wantai Certification expert team conducted a rigorous audit and evaluation of SN’s overall management through on-site training, document checks, and process reviews. Ultimately, SN successfully passed the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification, marking a milestone in its carbon management capabilities, reducing future greenhouse gas emission limits, enhancing competitiveness under carbon neutrality goals, and demonstrating its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
